Tomorrow or the following day we will take the ferry to Spain. Still about 100kms from the port but a good time to note a few statistics of the trip although expenditure details will be itemised in more detail at a later date.

Expenses Diesel greatest by far then accommodation, hotels, visas, shopping not in correct order at moment.

Punctures none

Vehicle repairs Repair A/C, weld exhaust, repair steering. Bakkie was serviced in Windhoek $894 (big service including 2 shocks) and Kumasi $160

Can't think of anything else at the moment.

We hope you have enjoyed reading the blog. We travel onto UK via Spain and France but the adventure really finished when we left Western Sahara. Surprisingly the distance travelled is very similar from when we drove across Europe then down East Africa in 2008.

Thank you for the people who have made comments on the blog, Elaine, Jane, Annee, Pepe and those who have emailed us. I have said before just how good it is to hear from people even if just a few words in an email or post. Helps in the down times.

It wasn't a trip we expected to find enjoyable. Of course that was the case at times, but it was an experience that took up 5 months of our lives. Can't imagine we will be doing anything quite as challenging as this was.

The bakkie has earned a rest and will sit in a shed in Norfolk till next year, by that time we will have decided if we will head in another direction or try and sell it. It has served us well and with still low kms on the clock would do South America very smoothly.
